The Main Street Merchants of Historic Medford Village is a partnership of small business owners with the shared goal of running a profitable business and making the Historic Medford Village thrive & shine. The Main Street Merchants also represent the interest of like-minded residents who want to keep the Village a safe, friendly, and viable community. Main Street businesses have spanned the ages, dating back to 1847 when Medford was founded. There have been many ebbs and flows over the years! Our quaint downtown has been on the upswing for the last few years thanks to the hard work and cooperation of our Main Street Business Partners! We organize all sorts of fun events, festivals, and shopping incentives! Everyone working with the Main Street Merchants is volunteering their time to do so, because our common goal is the success of Main Street!

Brief History of Main Street & How we became the Main Street Merchants
Welcome to Historic Main Street, Medford New Jersey. Dating back to 1847, our town’s quaint charm and individuality has survived, adapted, and thrived over the years. Compiled entirely of small businesses, our Main Street manages to shine via the collective effort of business owners working together to achieve success! We organize many events throughout the year, and are constantly thinking of new ideas for Main Street fun! You may have been at one of our events on Main Street such as, the Get Lucky on Main Street Chocolate Hunt, Sidewalk Sales, Dickens Festival, Haunted Ghost Walk, Farmers Market, Merry Main Street, or Chalk the Walk! Other events that happen on Main Street like the Art, Wine & Music Festival, 3rd Thursday Food Truck Nights, The Halloween Parade, and the Scarecrow Festival are run by our neighbor organizations whom we love to work with whenever possible.
In the early 2000’s Main Street experienced a bit of a low. There were more “for rent” signs than business signs. By 2014 things had started to turn around, and then in 2017 when Abbie Galie from Lower Forge Brewery & Alex Breaux from Wonder World Toys started working together to bring the village together, things started really turning around. We have grown immensely since then, and our Main Street Family has become close! We love working together and supporting each others businesses whenever possible. Please – as a shopper or visitor, feel free to ask the shop owners about their favorite local shopping neighbors! The Main Street Merchants have existed in one form or another for over 40 years, but for the last 5 years we’ve existed under the umbrella of the Medford Business Association. In the summer of 2021 we decided to break out on our own and be a full non profit chamber organization so that we could work towards the goals we want to reach as an association and also apply for grants and sponsorship for our group. We maintain a good relationship with the Medford Business Association and we look forward to continuing working with them in the future!
